  • Now get ready to head out together.  We're going to visit all of my favorite showrooms.  I have a wonderful day planned that’s designed to inspire as well as educate.
     

  • We’re going to explore where you’ll see some of the most beautiful custom made furniture and then learn exactly how you can maximize your business profits and lower your designer stress.
     

  • Learn how to identify quality and value, understand the ins and outs of custom furniture, watch PROVEN techniques for selling items to your clients that they can only see in a picture.

What steps do I need to take to get started?

 

First things first, you’ll need to register for the Market.  Registration is free.

 

Start by registering as a buyer.  Then select interior designer.  They will ask you for your business name etc.  They will mail your pass and information in a few weeks.

Are your rooms included in the workshop?

 

No, you’ll be taking care of your room and other personal expenses yourself.  Fortunately Las Vegas is the land of inexpensive hotel rooms.  When you register for Market, you’ll see that they have negotiated great prices at the top hotels on the Strip.

 

Do you need to rent a car?

 

Not if you don’t want to.  There is a free shuttle that stops at all of the major hotel/casinos every 30 minutes in the morning and until about 5 in the evenings.

 

What should you wear?

 

Of course you’ll want to look professional, but comfort is important.  Market is a fast paced, crowded and busy place.  When I tell you to wear comfortable shoes, I’m not joking.  I also would include a pair of flats or flip flops for the end of the day.

 

What else should you bring to Market?

 

Business cards, your Market badge, a little money for coffee in the morning, and that’s about it.

You can eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner for free in the showrooms so you won’t need anything else.  Don’t forget, I’m also treating everyone to our first night out.

 

Every showroom will be handing out bags.  (I usually almost fill an empty suitcase with them and give them out as reusable gift bags.)  This is actually really fun.  Every year we wait to see which showroom will have the coolest bag, as well as tons of other free goodies like tape measures, catalogs, samples etc.

 

Some designers even bring roller carts to carry all of the swag.
